Having parents and grand parents who had farms, I learned at an early age that you can make wonderful dishes and desserts by using your hands and things that were grown on the farm. As a young girl, I watched my mother make so many different dishes and desserts. She knew what to make to get me, her picky eater, to try something different.

My curiosity started to develop and under my mother's watchful eye, I began making cakes for family holiday dinners. As my mother began her own catering business, I helped her with preparing the menu items for her clients.

 

As I started to develop my own dishes and twists on my mother's dishes and desserts, my desire and confidence began to grow. I realized that being in the kitchen whether it's making something I have made a dozen times before or something brand new, I felt at peace. I realized that I don't have to think about the process of developing a delicious dessert, as it just seems to flow.

 

As I moved forward in my business, I thought of various names. I wanted something that was different but had meaning. A name that would live on long after I'm gone. Nothing seemed to fit like A Taste Of Ulean's. I know my mother is proud. Having my business named after her allows me to pay homage to her work ethic, being a fantastic cook and baker and most importantly, who she was to me, my mother.

 

A Taste Of Ulean's is love in the form of a dessert.
